It’s so frustrating when a car won’t start! Life grinds to a halt without transportation.  Repairs are time-consuming and expensive-a luxury the poor can’t afford.  To help those short on cash, McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church in Georgia has opened its own auto repair shop, where all the services are free. Reed Galin fills us in.

This hands-on ministry has branched out into the community, working with social service agencies to find people in need.  One Saturday a month, they put their mechanical skills to the test…

Mechanic:  “I can see where it’s dripping.”

…to show how much they care.

Erica hugs mechanic: “Glad to help…”

David McCoy: “What I hope for these people is that they go away from here and know that we love them.”

Erica to mechanic (with tears):  “You have a blessed day.”

Mechanic:  “You too, ma’am.”
